Graduation in Philly

Despite posting this in December, it was actually September when the family loaded up and drove 13 hours to Philadelphia for my graduation from The Academy of Homeopathy Education. To say I was excited is an understatement. I had never been able to meet any of my teachers or classmates in person before this. And I will say, meeting all of them did not disappoint. The comment I heard the most over the few days there was “Oh my gosh, you are so tall.” It is really hard to determine someone’s height from a small zoom screen. 😃

One of the highlights of the trip was going to Drexel University’s archives and seeing so many homeopathy artifacts dating back to Hahnemann! It was really surreal to handle the same remedy kits that Hering (the father of American homeopathy) used in his day. Below, I will share some of my pictures from the archive.

A card of the classes to be attended by the physicians studying homeopathy

A telegram to Dr. Baruch from a patient describing his symptoms. It was 9 yards long.

The mahogany writing desk and glasses of Constantine Hering.

The name plate on Hering’s desk

A handwritten letter from Samuel Hahnemann

A remedy kit

Look how small the remedy vials were!

A list of charges for different procedures from 1855

Early materia medica materials

Early reperatory! This was so neat. Each card was a symptom, so you pulled out each card that applied to your case and then stuck a stick through the holes to see which remedy fit all the symptoms the best.

The group of amazing homeopaths that went to the archives

The next day was AHE graduation. I was able to meet even more of my fellow classmates and teachers and took part in a beautiful ceremony to wrap up my time at AHE. The ceremony was meant to be outside, but of course 10 minutes before, the skies opened and it down poured. However, that didn’t stop anything. It was amazing to hear Al and Denise sum up our time spent studying at AHE.

Some of the Full Time Cohort classmates!

This was like being on a movie set. This is the library in Al and Denise’s home that I had seen in the zoom background for 2 years. It was so cool to see it in person. I decided if I ever get discouraged, I just need to spend a few minutes in this library to be inspired again.

Full Time Graduates!

My homeo-besties. I wouldn’t have made it through
